What is a physematician?

Physematician

|ˈfizə məˈti sh ən|

noun
An expert in the fields of both mathematics and physics.  It can be used as the collective noun for applied mathematicians and theoretical physicists.

ORIGIN The word physematician was coined by Jon Clark many years ago when he was asked to describe his job role.  At the time, Jon worked in that well-known grey area between the fields of maths and physics and the phrase “mathematician-stroke-physicist” proved quite a mouthful.  “Physematician” seemed to suit the purpose and matched both sides seamlessly.
