>> Science Outreach Talks

Science outreach, also called Education and Public Outreach, is an umbrella term for a variety of activities by research institutes, universities, but also institutions such as science museums, aimed at promoting public awareness (and understanding) of science and making informal contributions to science education. (Wikipedia)

ExcelScient is committed to the promotion of science in the community and organises guest speakers for schools and at public events.  We believe that such events raise the public awareness of scientific disciplines, as well as encouraging young scientists into exciting careers through education.

We have a network of scientific speakers, most from top research universities, who have an ability to relate fascinating scientific theories to general audiences.  Listeners are often captivated and enthralled.

School Talks

We believe that the best way to motivate young learners is through engaging with them directly, by giving talks and scientific demonstrations.   Our speakers understand what is needed to attract the interest of young minds and target their talks to intrigue both the brightest and weakest students.  Talks are normally an hour in length.

Some of our school speakers are free, although we ask for a small administration fee for contacting and organising speakers.

Public Events

It is not unusual for scientific breakthroughs to hit the news, but what is behind the headlines?  ExcelScient actively promotes engagement of top science leaders with their local science clubs and interested parties.  These often include astronomy clubs, science lectures, Cafe scientifique and careers events.   ExcelScient can find an extraordinary scientist with fascinating research knowledge to entertain your audience, no matter who they might be.

Contact ExcelScient if you wish more information or to book a talk at your event.

ExcelScient also practises what it preaches:  Dr Lisa Hall, ExcelScient’s founder also gives scientific talks in schools and at local events.  Examples of her talks can be seen on Lisa’s consultancy page.
